Now, the journey reaches the human heart.
Transformation begins within.
Gate II — The Human
The Inner Journey
Jesus summarized God's command:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
Heart
Love — Relationship
- What do I love?
- What sits at the centre of my life?
- Where is my heart directed?
Soul
Identity — Mind — Will — Purpose
- Who am I becoming?
- What shapes my thoughts?
- Where is my life directed?
Strength
Ability — Energy — Action
- What do I do with the life, gifts and strength I have been given?
Inner Transformation
Following Christ is more than knowing information about God.
Something begins to change within the human being.
The heart learns to love.
The mind learns truth.
The soul discovers purpose.
Strength becomes service rather than self-interest.
Fear can give way to hope.
Pride can give way to humility.
Bitterness can give way to forgiveness.
But this transformation is not the price of salvation.
It is its fruit.
Faith is not payment for salvation.
Good works are not payment for salvation. Love is not payment for salvation. They begin to grow when a life is being restored to its Source.
When the heart is transformed, love begins to move outward. What does this fruit look like?
